Job Highlight: Featherston Floors

Featherston Floors

Recently, a homeowner contacted us about restoring floors in a house on Featherston she was about to close on. The house was built in 1900, and the previous owner had installed modern wide-plank vinyl flooring throughout the downstairs. The seller had assured her that hardwood floors were lurking under the vinyl, just waiting to be refinished.

After closing, the new homeowner discovered that the original floors were, in fact, much too badly damaged to be salvaged.  Our refinish/restore project turned into a repair/replace project.

Our staff helped her explore options appropriate for the age of the house–namely narrow plank hardwoods. They would at least restore the look, and perhaps appear as the original floors had looked in 1900, without 118 years of wear and tear.
