How pink fiberglass insulation is made

Did you know that fiberglass insulation used to be bottles and windows? The quick video below shows footage from an Owens Corning insulation factory. We’re not 100% certain, but it looks like they’re making batts that were a precursor to to these EcoTouch attic batts.

Fiberglass insulation is environmentally friendly–it’s just sand and recycled glass melted together and spun like cotton candy.  What the video doesn’t tell you is that it performs better over time, with fire-resistance and rodent-resistance that never wears off (it’s not a chemical sprayed on), and a one percent or less settle rate.
